Embodying the Foundations of Shamanism

Embodiment of Shamanism

A one-year apprenticeship in learning, practicing, and embodying a deeper relationship with Spirit, yourself, and the world around you.

There is a difference between learning about spirituality and actually living it.

You can read the books, learn the terminology, take the workshops, build a beautiful Mesa, learn how to journey, and understand the teachings intellectually.

Real spiritual practice needs to be lived.

You still have a job. A family. A body. Relationships. Responsibilities. Decisions to make. Hard conversations. Grief. Change. Traffic. Laundry. Bills.

Embodiment of Shamanism is a one-year apprenticeship designed to help you bring shamanic practice into your everyday life through direct experience, spiritual connection, discernment, and embodied practice.

This is not about escaping your life to become someone more spiritual.

It is about becoming more fully yourself within the life you are already living.

This is a year of practice, not just information.

We begin at the South Gate of the Medicine Wheel, establishing the foundations of safety, groundedness, and relationship before moving through the teachings of the entire Wheel. You will learn the qualities, wisdom, practices, and invitations of each direction and explore how the Medicine Wheel can become a living framework for your growth and relationship with Spirit.

We will work with Fire, begin creating your personal Mesa, and introduce foundational tools to support you throughout the apprenticeship.

The teachings are rooted in the wisdom of the Peruvian shamanic lineage in which I have been apprenticed, including the wisdom of the Apus, the sacred mountain spirits, and the profound relationship between humans, Pachamama, Spirit, and the natural world. Throughout the year, we will learn not only through teaching and practice, but through story, experience, ceremony, and the sharing of wisdom passed through this lineage.

From there, the work unfolds organically. We will return to these foundational practices as your understanding deepens- while exploring journeying, connection with Pachamama, intuition, ancestors, archetypes, ceremony, soulful listening, breath and body awareness, Ayni (right relationship), reciprocity, radical acceptance, and the practice of standing with one foot in both worlds.

The goal is not to collect spiritual techniques.

The goal is to use them, trust your own experience, develop discernment, and embody what they are teaching you.

What does embodiment actually mean?

It means that your spirituality doesn't only exist when you are sitting in ceremony.

It shows up when you're having a difficult conversation, when your nervous system is activated, when you don't know what comes next, or when something you've been avoiding finally asks to be seen.

It means learning to listen instead of react, make decisions with greater clarity, and recognize the difference between fear, intuition, and what you experience as guidance from Spirit.

This year is an invitation to become quieter, more discerning, more connected, and more willing to listen.

Not so you can withdraw from ordinary life.

So you can meet ordinary life differently.

What we will explore

Throughout the year, we will work with:

The Medicine Wheel
Exploring the directions, gates, qualities, teachings, and invitations of the Wheel as a framework for personal growth and relationship.

Fire & Ceremony
Learning to work intentionally with Fire, ceremony, prayer, intention, and sacred space.

The Mesa
Creating your personal Mesa and developing a deeper relationship with the tools and medicine that become part of your practice.

Journeying & Spiritual Connection
Learning the practice of journeying, where and why we journey, how we connect with Spirit, Pachamama, and ourselves, and how to develop discernment within that relationship.

Intuition & Discernment
Developing your ability to listen, receive, notice, and work with intuitive and spiritual information while staying grounded and discerning.

Ancestors & Archetypes
Exploring ancestral connection, archetypal wisdom, and the ways these relationships can inform your own healing and understanding.

Body, Breath & Presence
Bringing spiritual practice into the body through breath, awareness, nervous-system regulation, and grounded presence.

Ayni & Right Relationship
Exploring reciprocity, relationship, responsibility, and what it means to live in greater alignment with yourself, others, Spirit, and the Earth.

Radical Acceptance
Learning to meet what is actually here rather than spending all your energy arguing with reality.

And perhaps most importantly, we will continually return to the question:

How does this become part of your actual life?

This apprenticeship includes

Two four-day immersive retreats

These are opportunities to step away from the pace and noise of everyday life and immerse yourself in the work.

The first retreat will take place November 5–8, 2026, taking place in La Guadalope, Canada, creating space for deeper practice, ceremony, connection, and integration away from your usual routines.

The retreats include accommodations, meals, snacks, teaching, ceremony, practice, and time for integration and connection with the group.

Monthly in-person gatherings

We will meet in person in Suffield, Connecticut throughout the year for practice, teaching, ceremony, discussion, and integration. The monthly gatherings will take place on Saturdays, beginning December 5th. A complete calendar of dates will be shared with participants before the apprenticeship begins.

These gatherings are where the teachings begin to move from something you understand intellectually into something you experience for yourself.

Monthly Zoom integration

We will meet virtually throughout the month to integrate what is happening in your practice, ask questions, share experiences, and continue the work together. Zoom integration sessions will take place on Fridays, beginning 20th. The complete schedule will be posted and shared with participants before the apprenticeship begins.

Individualized spiritual coaching

At the end of each month, there will be an opportunity for individualized spiritual coaching and support as you deepen your practice and work through what arises. Coaching dates and scheduling details will be shared with participants before the apprenticeship begins.

Registration

Registration opens October 1, 2026, and closes October 20, 2026.

This is a small-group experience, and space is intentionally limited so that each participant can receive meaningful support and be part of a committed circle.

A small circle of fellow practitioners

This is intentionally not a giant online program where you disappear into a sea of usernames.

The intention is to create a small, committed circle where people can practice, learn, ask questions, share honestly, and grow together.

Who is this for?

This apprenticeship may be for you if you feel drawn toward deeper spiritual practice and want more than another workshop or weekend experience.

You may be new to shamanic practice and looking for a grounded place to begin. Or you may already have experience with journeying, ceremony, a Mesa, or other spiritual traditions and feel ready to deepen your practice and embodiment.

You do not need to have everything figured out.

You do need to be willing to show up, practice, question, listen, and participate.

This is not about becoming someone else's version of you.

It is about developing your own relationship with the practices, teachings, and Spirit while learning to trust your own discernment.

What I hope you leave with

My hope is that by the end of this year, you don't simply know more about shamanism.

I want you to experience yourself differently—more grounded, discerning, connected to Spirit, connected to your body and inner knowing, and more capable of sitting with uncertainty without immediately needing an answer.

I want you to recognize what belongs to you and what doesn't, and bring your spiritual practice into the messy, beautiful, ordinary reality of your actual life.

Because spirituality that only works when everything is quiet and beautiful isn't particularly useful when life gets loud.

This is a year of learning the tools, practicing the teachings, and discovering what happens when you actually live them.
